As a small business, we are aware of the part we play in the ethical journey both ourselves and for our customers. We are always seeking to improve and make changes along the way, here is what we are currently doing:
Neon Marl has experienced rapid growth in the past 2 years, the business has gone from being a kitchen table, 1 woman business to now operating from a stand alone work unit employing 3 other incredible women where all our products are hand printed and packed before making their way to you.
All our employees work hours to fit around their own families and commitments and are paid well over the living wage.
Our sweatshirt and hoodie base products are carefully sourced for their quality and amazing colour options.
The suppliers we use are members of Sedex - www.Sedex.com - and only use WRAP certified factories - WRAP is a non-profit organisation made up of global social compliance experts who are dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane and ethical manufacturing around the world.
To gain WRAP certification a facility must comply with WRAP's 12 principles which include prohibition of Child & Forced labour, limits on the hours of work and monitoring of the work environment to ensure health & safety rules are adhered to - www.wrapcompliance.org
All items are PETA approved 100% vegan
As a print on demand business, we therefore limit the quantities of stock we need and only buy what we need and use.
Items that are less than perfect are used and sold in our Sample/Outlet sales. Worn returned customer items are washed and donated to local charities,, none of them end up in landfill.
The cardboard boxes that our base products arrive in are reused to ship out wholesale orders or recycled at our local recycling centre.
During 2021, we will be moving over to Organic cotton bases in the styles and colours that have now become available from our supplier - it is our hope that this will increase to incorporate all the colours & styles we offer in the near future.
We also hope to move our packaging over to paper mailers, development work has begun with a supplier - currently we wrap your orders in 100% recycled pulp fibre Hot Pink tissue paper which is 100% recyclable, then post out in Gold mailing bags which are also 100% recyclable.
